When someone thinks of antiques, the first thing that come to their mind is usually the stereotypical antique collection. That is, chairs, silverware, chandeliers and other terminally boring items. It is bizarre how certain incredibly dull things will be bestowed status of the moniker ‘antique’ while other aged items that are of value are dubbed ‘collectibles.’

Comic books, stamps, and rare coins are not antiques. They are collectibles. 1932’s Marvel Comics Issue #1 is one heck of a collectible. It’s worth $50,000.00. That is, if you can find it. There are only maybe ten in existence. But, no one will dub it an antique any time soon. So, it is no surprise that an antique tractor part slips under the radar of antique publications and expositions.

Well, mainstream snobbishness derived exclusion notwithstanding, there is quite a market for the antique tractor part. Tractors have been part of the American landscape for many decades and are an image inseparable from the Americana image of the farmer. So, over the course of these many years, there have been many different makes and models of tractors that have gone in and out of production. Some of these models were only available for a short time. Some never made it past the prototype or testing stage. Some of these tractors no longer exist in complete form. From these tractor rarities comes the antique tractor part.

An antique tractor part can, like any antique, fetch quite a bit of money on the collector or auction market. Sometimes, there is an antique tractor part so rare that people have been looking for it for years and the existence of which is believed to only be a rumor. Of course, such an antique tractor part would be a highly prized item in an antique collection!

So, while tractors may not be featured prominently in any antique celebration magazines, there are still a number of antique parts that have many anxious bidders waiting to locate them.
